City History
I have many great memories of living in Peru during the early 1950s when is was a small self sufficient town. During the summer the local merchants would rent a movie each week and they would project it from the bandstand in the park onto a billboard located at the south side of the park. On Saturday evening everyone would come to town to buy groceries and then watch the movie. I remember playing under the bandstand and then jumping off of it to show how brave we were. --Ken Silver
